Hawaiian Insects

Adult coconut rhinoceros beetle, Oryctes rhinoceros. Mamala Bay golf course, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. At the time this was taken a mesh covering had been put over the mulch pile that they're breeding in, in order to minimize the number of emerging adults that spread around while they could figure out what to do about the pile itself.
