Paratachardina pseudolobata, lobate lac scale. On twigs of cultivated white Hibiscus, Moanalua Gardens. A generalist plant pest new to Hawaii, already starting to invade native forest. When crushed, they produce a blood-red juice like cochineal. The small red dots are the immature crawler stage.
