Drosophila sp., Oio Gulch, Kahuku. This is a modified mouthparts species that breeds in the leaf axils of Pleomele, feeding on the detritus that accumulates there. Even when it's quite dry the center of the axil retains water. They then pupate higher up on the leaves.
