Scaptomyza (Elmomyza) sp., on fruit of Pisonia brunoniana. Palikea. This undescribed species breeds on the fruits of Pisonia spp. (papala kepau). The larvae crawl on or even through the sticky resin and feed on it, and they are apparently mostly able to avoid getting stuck as adults.
