Scaptomyza (Elmomyza) sp., on fruit of Pisonia umbellifera. Central Kaluaa Gulch 1. This undescribed species breeds on the fruits of Pisonia spp. (papala kepau). The larvae crawl on or even through the sticky resin and feed on it, apparently mostly able to avoid getting stuck as adults.
