May 26, 2007. Kaala boardwalk, Oahu. Nesorestias sp., or possibly Nothorestias. Neal pointed this out to me, saying it was one of the flightless dolichopodids (Emperoptera) that hang around on Melicope leaf litter and noting how surprising it was that it was letting me take the picture without fleeing. I commented on how short and squat it was, and that I would have thought it was a delphacid if he hadn't pointed it out. Turns out there was a reason for that.
